Wife's new 2006 9-5 (41k km's) has a case of the squeal on cold starts. It's fine when warmed up after driving.

Coming from the belt area but hard to pin point with that darn engine mount...lol. I slackened the belt and could only spin the idler pully which seems fine and has no play.
When running, the tensioner does oscillate back and forth rapidly... not much but enough to notice. I don't think it does this on my Viggen (almost same set up and engine I guess :-)).

The car is new to us and I think it sat on the lot for a few months. Could the belt have 'memory' of the pullies... or maybe a belt driven accessory... but which one.

I'm guessing tensioner at the moment.... Any point in hitting with some lube... the spring loaded part of it?
