Gather that up for ammunition with the insurance company. Everybody gets back on the haunches and curses the insurance companies, but by in large I find the payouts pretty reasonable and always retail not wholesale.
If I was say the used car manager at Marvin K Brown I likely would only send a car that old with that many miles to auction, couldn't really afford to retail it on the lot. If you try and bring an 8 year old anything up to Marvin K Brown used car standards, pretty high quality used lot, it's gonna' run $100 per 10k miles if it doesn't need anything. so that's put me in it close to $4k after the service department gets a hold of it. Then asking $6k or even $7k is pretty normal used car mark-up.
When I search the Auto Trader is see quite a few in the $6-7k range with considerably less miles than yours and Aeros and Arcs too, not Linears. And if I go to the 4th page of the listings, quite a few similar cars in the $4-5k range. True there are quite a few at astronomical prices, Saab owners can be a proud bunch and maintenance expenses when totaled up can easily exceed the value of the car, but those are asking prices....
