at the low mark with a cold engine. I would suggest just add some distilled water to midway between Min and Max when the engine is cold.
Unless you live in a two-season area, i.e. only fall and winter or spring and summer, the change in boiling point and freezing point of coolant by adding a bit of water up to the midpoint (from Min mark) in the coolant reservoir is minimal.
If your cooling system is tight, you really don't lose any coolant for up a year or two or even more. I have a 2003 Aero, I don't recall having to add anything until the 3yr/60K service and I specifically asked the dealer to change the coolant. The only other time I had to add coolant was when I had to change a leaking coolant bypass valve.
