Hi:
I've got a 2004 9-5 sport wagon w/ about 50K on it.
I've searched thru the forum and it looks like these codes are related to spark plugs and possibly the DI cassette. I got them when I failed emissions test in VA. I've talked to an independent garage (that has serviced the car before) and they want to run their own diagnostics, rather than just check the spark plugs for me (as a starting point). Am wondering if I should contact the Saab dealer? I know the spark plugs won't be covered under any warranty but would a new DI cassette be covered? I've looked at the warranty and I think the answer is no but thought I'd ask. I'm not sure when the spark plugs were replaced. I had the first 3 services done at the dealer - 15, 30, 45K miles and it's possible it was done at the 45K even tho the manual said it should be done at 30 and 60, I think. I've always been under the mileage for these tuneups.
Also, what would it cost to have a new DI cassette installed? Is it normal for them to go out at 6 years/50K miles? I don't think we have the time/know-how to change any of this ourselves we need to get it serviced somewhere. I stopped going to the Saab dealer mostly b/c it is not convenient and felt it might be more expensive too.
thanks in advance for the advice,
sharon
