Come on. I just did my front struts and I used the impact wrench for the main bolts to the hub, the bolts for the sway bar link and the strut upper bolt on and off.
I could not have gotten the sway bar link off without and impact wrench.
If you have a compressor a good wrench is $40-60. You can buy an electric one for 110 volts for $50.00.
To do suspension work you NEED a 1/2" impact wrench and a set of deep metric impact sockets. Period.
You need an 18mm deep socket for most bolts!!!
Oh by the way, and impact wrench with a 19mm socket is a heck of a way to get the wheels off.
Yes it is OK NOT to buy tools.......but then have someone else do the work.
Working on you Saab is supposed to be fun......not a frustrating chore.
In my opinion I love Harbor Freight for tools. The prices are great and an easy way to justify tools that you may only use a few times a year.
