ACC troubles/temp ---

ACC troubles. Searched on this board and could not find my exact set of circumstances.
2004 9-5 Aero, manufacture date 08/03, 70,000 miles.
Exterior temp is high 90s (F) (just like every day here in South Texas) and a/c is blowing hot. Recalibrated ACC, no improvement. Deleted custom programmming (AUTO + downarrow), then recalibrated ACC, no improvement. Zero codes.
BUT -- the temperature is not displaying correctly on the SID. Temp is showing on the SID as "---" rather than as a numeral. This is a new problem and apparently developed at the same time as the ACC problem.
Please don't tell me I need to replace the ACC "brain," such as it is....
