CV Boot... Posted by Johnson [Email] (#3237) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Johnson) on Mon, 16 Aug 2010 20:33:43 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Got new tires this last week, and they told me that my cv boot on the passenger side was ripped 3/4ths of the way. I haven't had a chance to look myself, but I don't doubt it as the car has 105k miles. My question is, do I just replace the boot? or since I have to have all the parts out anyways, do I replace the whole axle? My last car i did this on I replaced the whole axle, because the boot was gone, and the joint had rubbed so bad it broke, and I had to replace the whole part.
and where have people found the best price on an axle? I've seen mention of chinese parts. I'm not against giving them a try if they are significanlty cheeper. also it seems to be a pretty straight forward job, anything special to look out for?
