But US market seems to have always demanded a V6 in this class of car. SAAB has not been successful at delivering the required level of refinement in 4 cyl engines yet. They will have to work hard on this. The BMW in line 6's would not fit very well, and BMW has no V6's...they can chop a V12 in half or lop 2 cyl of a V8... maybe they already have a V6 in dev for their SUV's. The power output of the V6 is not bad... it is in the same ballpark as the AUDI 3.0T (supercharged) and the BMW turbo 6. The base inline 6 and Audi V6 has more HP then the SAAB 4, so 250 is where they need to be. I really don't know why SAAB does not just come up with more HP. But the 4 cyl is unique in this this class. No one else offers it.
