Just because the car is a great one, does not mean it ias without faults, and a writer has a right to espress them. Fact is, the model nomenclature might mean something to the artsy fartsy marketing people who all of a sudden decided that the three cars we knew as "models" for the past four years were all of a sudden now "forms", but what has that got to do with reality?
As for the key between the seats, get ready for a paradigm shift. Keys are no longer needed in cars, just like buggy whips are no longer needed. The key is an antiquated piece of technology for vehicle security, and will soon be obsolete, replaced by smart card technology along with other things. The key in the center is a royal pain as far as cost and service and manufacturing efficiency. Just ask anyone at Saab who is involved with the manufacture of the cars. There is really no longer a valid reason to have a key.As for the supposed safety issue,I seriously doubt that many have died or been seriously injured in car crashes by keys that protruded from the steering column.Sometimes I think that those who like, or even love Saabs tend to get so carried away with the distinctive design traits that they loose touch with what is going on in mainstream auto design, and the fact is that if Saab is to increase sales,it must come out with more models that have broader appeal. That might mean changing a few things around, and that key might be one of those things.
Fireproof suit now on, so replys are welcome.
