Yesterday was the day. I spent two hours at the controls of a brand new 2010 SAAB 9-5 courtesy of Perrine SAAB. What a car!
The car is silky smooth and quiet. Backed up by handling and performance to match. It includes a knob to select 3 profiles of comfort and handling. I found the middle setting to be a nice compromise. The handling has a crisp quickness that no SAAB before it can match. Acceleration is on par with the current Aero.
The navigation and audio systems are a nice leap into the future. With the audio system one can load up a library of CD's on a flash card and plug it into the car to enjoy, or plug in your iPOD. With the navigation system one can find all of your favorites at your PC and load the to a flash drive and plug them into the car for immediate access.
Other features on the car include many you would expect, and a few that you would not, like the heads up display and the warning signal that you've drifted out of your lane.
Yes, I am going to buy a 2011 model in the spring.
