Good show!!!!
I did a varation of this going up the mountain from Bishop CA to Mammoth. Bishop is at 5000 ft and Mammoth 8000+.
I was driving my then now 1997 9000 Aero. this is a great 4 lane divided highway. I could see this big Jacked up hot rodded turbo diesel pickup headed up the hill in the left lane really steaming along. When he got within 1/4 mile of me, I pulled into the left lane to pass a car. Shift the stick down to 3rd. The truck guy flashed his lights and leaned on hi horn.....he did not want me in my little foreign job to break his momentum.
I got on the boost in 3rd, up to 75 80 or whatever full boost. Shifted to 4th and full boost again. The trick was way way behind me.
Was probably doing 125 at the summit. I then got off and slowed to 65, because this hill is crawling with CHP all the time. After a bit the truck came flying by me on the downhill....flipped me off too.
A little later my radar detector lit up, but somehow the truck slipped by him.......
fun to see what that turbo can do at altitude.
