I've bought new Saabs from Village Saab in Acton and 2 from 128 in Wakefield, and I've come close to buying from Gary Blake in Exeter, NH. I've heard that Nashua can be very aggressive on price too. I don't think it makes a darn bit of difference where you buy the car - just get the best deal you can, then take your service where you want to. In my experience, the idea that you "create a special relationship" by buying your car from some dealer, and that they'll go out of their way for you on service because you bought the car from them doesn't hold water. Buy where you get the best price.
I've used the service departments of 128, Herb Chambers, Village, Charles River and Gary Blake in Exeter, NH. Given the choice, I'll go to Gary Blake every time, even though it is very inconvenient for me. They are excellent, they have a very good loaner policy, and they have always been very prompt. The fact that I have not bought my car there does not seem to make any difference, or perhaps even strengthens the level of service provided. I think service departments might work harder for those customers who did not buy their car from them - they are more likely to take the service for granted from customers who bought the car from them.
