Buy a pair of ball joints for a 1999 model, complete with bolts. Buy an identical set for a 2002 model, getting both sets from a store with an easy return/exchange policy.
While doing the job you will see what joint/bolt combination is needed for each side. Just return the unecessary parts at the end of job.
My EPC shows different part numbers for the 1998-2001 and 2002-2009 model ball joints, and the bolts/nuts/washers are all shown as separate pieces. When I ordered my replacement ball joints (frome either eEuro or GenuineSaab) the new bolts/washers/nuts were in the box with the ball joint.
