I took out the 3 hoses listed, along with my old heater bypass valve.
The little solenoid that controlled the heater bypass value I left plugged in (other posts here made it sound like it would trigger an ACC error code). I then plugged the vacuum line that used to "supply" vacuum to the solenoid (after I disconnected the solenoid there was an extra check valve in there that I used to do so).
I removed 7 spring-hose clamps (2 on the engine, 2 on the heater core, 3 on the bypass valve) -- and installed 4 screw-type ones (2 on the engine, 2 on the heater core).
Access to screw the clamps was okay... I used a flex-extension for a screwdriver (one of those hex-bit ratchet screwdriver thingies), but I think I could have done it with just a regular screwdrive if I had to (I've got small hands though).
