Do it! It's great, good sound quality, stereo and the mute of radio when plugged in works great. iPhone works good with phone and iTunes. A few tips, observe pictures of the cable leaving the box, this may be the only way out. I did solder the gnd lead in a different location, back where the cable starts over the board, soldered to the gnd joint of the screw gnd plate. I would not remove the shielding more than removed in photo but add coated wire back to the solder point or do it as in photo. When charging and playing music you will get a ground loop feed back but not when playing with iPhone battery. Found a device that will remove this (3.5mm Stereo Audio Isolation Transformer, you will find a good price on ebay) but haven't tried it yet. I will first add a power source for iPhone at the back of radio using same power and gnd leads to shorten loop, this might work and I will let you know how it turns out. When I was out in the country by farm buildings I did pick up an outside interference but plan on adding some shield back to the leads where I connected ( that's why I recommend leaving as much shielding in place as possible, be sure to use a good shielded cable). Much much better than fm or cassette connection (tried both and hated both) Only took about 2 hours, do it, you will be glad you did.
