No. You should be fine. Some people carry the older USED (BAD) D.I.C. in their trunk to use when the current one goes REALLY bad and won't start car.
Mine showed the code P1312 on my Car Chip and check engine "sign" on the dashboard along with feeling less power - "limp home mode".
So I still have my BAD one to use when something goes Narrrry with the new D.I.C. Oh, replace your spark plugs at same time (NGK plugs).
