2002 Saab 95 Arc, 83K Miles. See previous posts (Engine Damage and Water Damage)
Finally found out lost night that the dealership can not revive my engine and insurance company will total the car see that the cost to fix as quoted by the dealership is more than what the car is worth.
As much as I loved that car, I am not quite unset over it. In approximately 8 years that I owned it, I forgot how many times the car had been to the shop. Every few months or so something or the other breaks. Even my 3 yr. old said that my Saab is always in the service shop adn this time for my new car I should get a Honda since they never give me trouble (I own a Honda Odyssey). Coming from a 3 yr. old. thats saying something.
Just off the top of my head, I can remember in last 4-5 yrs (after warranty expiration) fixing, AC Expansion valve, Coolant Bypass valve (3 times, each time costing $400), Thermocouple and temp. sensor, O2 Sensor. IDM cassettes, SID unit, water pump, coolant tank and sensor. All this in addition to general wear and tear which seemed to be excessive in this car.
Anyway, this is my last post on this forum as I am pretty sure that I am never buying another SAAB again.
