This is not a difficult job to do. I took my time, only had trouble getting the little cubby hole to pop loose. Once that came out, it was easy to do. BTW, the release for the cubby is on the bottom center edge. Added benefit was that I was able to get all of the gunk cleaned off the wood portion around the shifter.
While I was there, I removed the seat heater switches and went to replace those burned out bulbs. The EPC - Electronic Parts Catalog shows a bulb for each switch. There are in fact, two bulbs per seat switch. Now I have to get two more bulbs for these switches. IMHO, at night the dash looks better with all of the bulbs lit. I've heard someone describe it as a Christmas Tree ! Lots of green / red-orange illumination.
