If the puff of smoke happens just a few seconds after start up, it is most likely the turbo seals leaking some oil into the exhaust.
The oil consumption could also be turbo seals but could be piston rings as well, allowing some oil to pass through while driving.
Drive car hot and park it and remove exhaust/catalytic converter and check the impeller for signs of oil.
This is a V6 but they look the same if leaking.
