Recently I went to the "Build your own" section of SaabUSA's website for the new 2011 9-5, 4 cylinder models. While both the base turbo 4 and the premium turbo 4 have the identical engine specifications (re horsepower and torque), I was surprised to see that the base turbo 4 had a 3.76 final drive ratio, while the premium turbo 4 has a 3.33 final drive ratio. The 6 cylinder 9-5s all appear to have the same 3.20 final drive ratio.
So, can anyone explain why Saab appears to have chosen to offer two different final drive ratios on the two models of the turbo 4 cyliner vehicles?
