It could be the pump or DI. Did you get a CEL before it died? Can you restart the car now? Fuel pump went in my wife's wagon while sitting at a stop light.
You should be able to hear the pump run for a few seconds with the ignition on and the back seat pulled up. You could also try hitting the bottom of the tank while some tries to start the car. It might turn over or sputter, did this on her car to confirm the pump was dead.
DI should have thrown a CEL I would think, but they are prone to failure. Our wagon hed the CEL come on a day before the DIC died. For what it's worth, the DI in my 9-3 never quit, just gave a CEL and ran a little crappy. Know anyone who's got a good one you can try? Good Luck
