There are a number of products that will free sticking rings. Some are quite inexpensive. There are two types.

One is put in the engine and the engine is started and fully warmed up, then the oil is drained. With these, you cannot put any load on the engine. So you cannot put it in the engine then drive onto ramps to drain the oil. These have a limited effect and cannot deal with significant deposits in a few minutes.

The second type is added to the engine and you drive the vehicle as normal, then drain the oil a few days later or perhaps much later. You need to read the labels.

Look for a product that "frees sticking rings and valves". Never use a product that feels like goo when you shake the can. Can should be quite small and feel very watery when shaken.

Use a 5W40 or 10W40 oil. Get one that is for older high mileage vehicles. These have additives that will make hardened oil seals more supple.

If the engine is also sludged, then there is a risk that it will come off in chunks and block the oil pickup scree. You can pull the valve cover and see what things look like. That is relatively cheap and fast.

If a chemical treatment solves the oil burning problem, you are good to go. But look under the valve cover in any case.

If the chemical treatment produces no improvement, then you will know that if you are doing major work it is not for something that could be otherwise dealt with inexpensively.

Story: Years ago my brother had a large vehicle with a V8 engine. It started to smoke, especially when pulling away from an intersection. I got twos cans of a leave in and drive product from Canadian Tire and put one in the engine. The smoking and oil burning stopped. I told him to change the oil and add the second can. Problem fixed for a few dollars.
