The answer to the first four questions /statements is True. You will have a horn beep when locking/unlocking rather than the chirp, but this sound can be turned off if you wish. I don't know if the Tech who performed this for me did step #5, so this may be a Yes or a No.
The Dealership charged me $25 to do this and the Tech was so quick that I am confident they still made money. He even temporarily activated the autolocking doors - which I detest - so the time to disable the alarm in this manner is minimal.
