Searched this board, but the info I found was not really explicit enough.
Want to permanently clear a "Time For Service" message on your SID?
Here's the method:
1.) When the "Time for Service" message appears as you start the car, while the message is still showing, press the CLEAR button quickly and then LET IT GO. The message will clear.
2.)Then, quickly press and HOLD the CLEAR button. Keep holding until you hear a chime and the "Clear" message appears. DO NOT LET GO OF THE CLEAR BUTTON YET! KEEP HOLDING UNTIL...
3.)You hear a second chime and the "Service" message appears; NOW you can let go of the CLEAR button.
Done. HTH
