First and Foremost - get your wife to the doc if she has not already been there! You need to ensure your unborn child is ok and then her :-) From the sounds of things she is - but better to be safe!
By all means - I agree - Push to get it totaled! We were hit in the side of my wife's 95 camaro in 1997 - while the damage did not look that bad - after talking with a few people - they stated that the car would no longer function "As properly" as it should in any further accidents regarding the front end (Hit on the drivers side in the front).
You have the right to be there when the claim adjuster looks over your vehicle - question his/her every move as to what parts will be used in the repair and INSIST on only genuine SAAB PARTS AND NOT AFTERMARKET PARTS! It is YOUR RIGHT TO DO THIS! Once the adjuster talleyed up the parts it was within the total range and he realized that I would be there almost everyday to "SUPERVISE" the repair - felt it was in the companies best interest to "Total" out the car.
