Hello everyone on the 9-5 Board. This is my first time posting on the 9-5 board. My neighbor has a 2000 9-5 Auto with a tick under 70K. Car is a 2.3L but not an aero. The past month or so their 9-5 has had starting troubles. Car seems to always start fine when cold. The issue arises when they park the car and go into a store to do an errand. When they comeout the car does not start. Nothing no lights/crank. After about five minutes the car will work in accessory power (dummy lights,ACC,radio ect.) But no crank. I have go it started by holding the key fob lock or unlock button(no sure) while cranking. Once car starts no odd noises, Idle, or CEL. has happened three times all within 5-7 miles fom the house. I have changed the key fob batteries and the battery is fourmonthsold. I looked under the hood this morning and ispected vacume lines and they all look to be in pretty good shape. I believe this car is a T7? The DIC is black, and I have been told it is original. Will a failing DIC cause these issues? I am not really familar with the 9-5 like I am with 900/9-3s so any input is welcome. Forwhat it is worth the car spendsmost of its time in the Chicago area. The car made the trip fine. Started once they got here to FL. TIA;-)
