Blower fan noise

Over the last few days, I've been getting a whirring/rattling noise from the dash area that's coming from the ACC system. Almost sounds like something is caught in the fan, or the bearings need oil. Hopefully this isn't the start of the infamous blend door failure. Car is an 04 aero wagon.
Any idea's what it could be the the remedy? Hopefully doesn't involve taking the entire dash apart.
Thanks in advance
Ron
