I have a 2005 9-5 with about 72,000 miles. Tonight when I started driving it there was a "musical" beep from the dash and the ESP off, Red exclamation point, abs and brake lights turned on. I pulled the car off to the side of the road and turned it off. After I turned it back on it would no longer come out of park but the 4 dash lights mentioned above were turned off.

I used the manual release switch to put the car back into drive and the 4 dash lights turned back on as soon as the car started moving. I tried turning the car off and back on several times with the same results. Finally since everything seemed okay, I went ahead and drove home with the 4 dash lights turned on.

After I got home I tried turning off the car and turning it back on again. This time there were no problems moving the shifter into reverse and/or drive and the dash lights worked like they normally do.

I don't know even where to start with this issue. I looked online and found a lot of posts about the solenoid in the shifter but I don't know that is the case here since the dash lights were going crazy.

Has anyone else seen this type of problem or have any suggestions on where to start?
