To go to 245 45 17 you must have a 7.5 inch wide rim. Depending on the rim that you have I think it is 7". Unless you have some of the BBS wheels, I think that some of them are 7.5" wheels. I have put 245 45 17's on a non-areo and you have to make sure the ride height and suspension is up to spec. Weak springs / shocks / structs will allow the tires to hit (not bad) especially on the fronts. I had to use spring lifts on the back even with new springs and shocks to get the ride height up. I also had to lift up the fronts a bit with a prototype lift system in the front struts to get it to spec. After this was done, virtually no tire touching. This was done with rims from Tire Rack that had a 45 offset if I remember correctly. Don't quote me on this, check out tire rack, they were low end rims. Elibach I think.
Now on the Aeros the ride height is about 1/2" lower, so I think you would be ok, but would have to make sure the ride height is not low to spec. This seems to be a bit more of a problem on Aeros.
I will say that the 245 45 17 on the non-aero sedan are AMAZING. Now I do have a set of Cooper Cobra GTZ (I think) and there are older but fairly higher end tires. But I simply can not get them to slip even on on ramps going too fast. I simply stopped trying to go faster since I simply would have totally wiped out at the speed I was trying if they did let go. The car is simply is on a rail. Difference is stunning with stock suspension using Monore shocks / struts, good sway bars (OEM) and links.
I run 235 45 17 on an Aero Sedan that I have and they are good, but not like the 245 45 17. They do not require 7.5" wide rims.
I thought Aero Standard size was 225 45 17?
