Window roller job FINALLY DONE... notes Posted by jgARC03SW [Email] (#1216) [Profile/Gallery] (more from jgARC03SW) on Wed, 16 Mar 2011 10:25:30 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Yikes of course I would struggle on and off for a long time for a simple job. Long story short I order 4 replacement rollers figuring two would be spares. Smart move on my part, as I now have zero spares :)
After getting the rollers in fairly easily about 10 days ago, I gave my wife the garage back and then noticed, right before a rainstorm that the glass was not quite in the track near the A pillar.
I had a LOT of trouble getting it in correctly, trying on and off a few days, battery died so I recharged it (free!!) at Autozone overnight and both the gaskets inside the door were giving me fits. I had to remove the door speaker to get access to the front gasket. The rear gasket slid in easier once I figured out which way it had to go. I broke both of the two new rollers I just put in to get them out to redo the job. I got the other pair of new rollers in very easily once the window was in the track after the front and back gaskets were where they needed to be. One of the retaining pins was not quite in all the way after popping in the regulator arm's pin into the roller but I managed to borrow my wife's makeup mirror and stick needlenose pliers in and push until it popped full onto the roller.
Thanks again for the great tutorial B Millar, of course my luck I ran into more difficulties than you did. You also must have smaller hands than I do!!
