I can only guess as I bought a car that had this issue and didn't get to drive it or hear it rattle before failure.
Rattles might be from the window no longer being completely enveloped by the rubber trim pieces on the A and B pillar - I was referring to these as "gaskets" perhaps incorrectly. It's the same rubber material and similar shape to the door and body frame "gaskets" that go around the door and the door frame.
Anyway if you follow B Millar's nice photo tutorial you can see how to take the door trim off to check this. You might want to remove the door speaker (three bolts and a wire connector) from the door foam once the trim panel is removed. Then you can inspect the front track when the window is down.
It is possible if the rubber pieces are not where they should be then eventually the rollers might get broken once the window starts to get out of its track.
Hope that helps.
