'02 arc (V6) wagon, 105K miles
Driving home at ~65mph last night with the kids and wife in the car, the CEL came on flashing and then solid and the car turned off. I was able to pull to the side of the road. Tried a restart and no dice. I secured a ride for the wife and kids back home and waited for the tow truck wishing I had a flashlight so I could look for disconnected hoses, puddles of liquid, etc. In any case, while waiting for a tow, I tried a restart after 10 mins or so and the car turned over, ran for 10 seconds and then died again. Almost acted like it was starved for fuel or air. Fuel pump or throttle body? Tried restarting again after another 15 mins and the same thing happened. It was towed to the dealer and I'll be curious to see if it's a warm weather thing or if it truly will not stay running regardless of temp.
Notably, I've had the CPS replaced once and yesterday, the day this happened, the car was in for an oil change and rotation. I don't think it actually ran out of oil (or wasn't filled), but you never know. Again, wish I had a flashlight to see if there was a puddle or to check the dipstick. Thoughts?
