Using SID?

If so, do you reset (clear) the mpg monitor often? I've found that once you sit at some lights or in heavy traffic, the mpg readout on SID, which is usually nice and high for highway driving, will drop pretty quickly. Yet when I get back to highway speeds, it just doesn't seem to bump up again at the same rate -- so I always reset it when I get going at highway speeds again. Although I'm in an '01 lpt, they're the same SID I think, so all should work the same.
I'd say if you cleared the SID while driving at highway speeds, and it doesn't show you in the high 20's to low 30's within a minute or two (and stay there while you are cruising) that you may have an issue. (BTW, I love it when I reset at say, 65 mph, and the SID will show all sorts of crazy numbers for a few seconds -- like 98.7 mpg. With the price of gas, it's a cheap thrill of mine!)
