The first warning sign of worn out rear shocks is often chattering of the rear wheels on fast tight turns - such as exit/entrance ramps. If the worn out shocks are allowing the tires to loose roadway contact, the TCS will detect this wheel speed imbalance and do its job.
Rear shocks usually fail before 100K miles. How old are yours?
