Help with a "whooshing" noise under the dash

Hi Everyone,
I'm hoping some one here can help me find an issue I believe I read here a few years ago. My wife has a 2005 95 turbo that had a "whooshing" noise under the dash when we bought it used. After several attempts by a (non-Saab) mechanic to figure it out, I came across a posting here about a valve that sits on the firewall of that model. We took it into an actual Saab mechanic and he verified that was our culprit. We replaced it and we've been aces ever since.
The issue now is my wife tells me the "whooshing" sound is back. Most of the causes of this sort of noise are not an immediate emergency so long as no indicator lights are coming on and the brakes are working fine, but I'd like to figure out if that pesky valve is important as well.
Does this valve ring any bells for anyone? I think it had something to do with air flow or air conditioning, but I don't think it was the airflow valve since that doesn't sit actually on the firewall as far as I know.
