It is no guarantee or reason behind it if the car start on one bank or not.
Some owners have come driving in here saying that their V6 runs a little sluggish with the Check Engine light on and one IDM have been dead. Other cars have come in on a tow truck and I have been unable to even start the engine to drive the car into the shop and one IDM have been bad.
I have no explanations to this but that's the way it is.
P-1640 is something going on with the main relay supplying voltage to the Trionic box pin 1.
So check for voltage at fuse 14 with ignition on. Code P-1320 also deals with main relay voltage to IDM bank 2.
But first and foremost, be absolutely sure that wires are ok at the IDM connector. It is no use to chase a problem further if your are not sure about the last step in the fault tracing. Probably "good enough" is not good enough but is still much better than probably worthless.
