My problem was not with the check valve, nozzles, or a rust plug in the line. It was due to a crimped/kinked washer supply hose near the right side hinge. Before I started the repair, I went back through the BBS archives and found someone who had discovered that his washer worked when the tailgate was open, but would not work when it was closed. I tried that simple test and found exactly the same problem that he had with hose routing through the hinge cover. Removing the hinge plastic covers for access and playing around with repositioning the hose so that there was not an excess on the inside of the car body side of the hinge cured my problem completely.
