I fitted a non SAAB (Witter) tow hitch myself to a 99 Wagon. The whole assembly is held on by two scews and two nuts in each of the rear wheel arches, and two big nuts hidden in box sections at the rear corners accessible from the inside of the boot (trunk- sorry I'm in the uK).
If the side bumper mouldings line up ok, then its more likely that the plastic cover on the rear section has not been located properly. There are a number of plastic tags that are located by nuts up inside the bumper assembly. You can see these if you lie on you back and look up with a torch. It may be they can be slackened off from under the car and the bumper cover pressed down.
If you can't do this then the whole assembly needs removing.
The hitch is first fitted to the bumper, and then the whole bumper assembly is refitted before bolting up the four hitch bolts that you can see from under the car. If the dealer did nt align the hitch to the aluminium inner bumper member then it could be that as the hitch bolts have been tightened the bumper assembly has distorted enough to foul.
I'd take it back and make a fuss.
