I can't let a response like this go. Just can't. This board is to help people out with there cars, no matter what year it is, etc.
I hope that the prices on these cars goes down so I can buy more / updates. If you can turn a wrench at all, these cars are an amazing value and if cared for at all will run a long time. Posts on this board have cars at 300K+ and running fine. This car is better than most cares out there. I drive rental cars of all sorts, most are not even close, and the other are just way to expensive.
It's clear that this car was a threat for GM and GM simply killed the company. My main fault here is for Saab selling out to GM, maybe they had hard choices, but with an engine that can put out 250+ HP / FT-lbs and get 30+ MPG at 70/80 MPH.... How come GM did not adopt this engine for other cars?
Now it will be interesting if Saab can get back on it's feet. It might be that Saab will not be able to recover from all of this, but it is clear they were doing some good things in the industry.
Oh, and by the other comment, almost all cars are a depreciating asset......
Comments welcome...
