AC recharge - success!

Holy sh*t!
After doing some research, I injected a 14oz can of r134a into the low side port today of my 2003 9-5 today (160K, never serviced). I even skimped and purchased the can without a gauge (hose only) going on the premise that cheap gauges were largely dismissed as unreliable by board veterans. I figured that after 8 years all it needed was a recharge.. and boy was I right!
I think this is the first time I heard my compressor engage in quite some time! The can said it may take 5-15min (not sure how true that is) to intake the contents... it sucked it all in within seconds. The AC then turned from lukewarm to ice cold within seconds.
I like it when I roll the dice and it all works out! :)
PS - these cans aren't so cheap if you need a hose attachment. The can itself is $15 or so but if you don't have "tools" the can with valve and hose ran me $27 at Autozone. I cringed but paid for it, well worth it as I just found out.
Not knowing how much is in there in total, I'll leave it as is with 14 new ounces.
Now... to replace that brake booster on the cheap...
