Well, I bought another Saab! It will be for my fiancee.
I posted few days ago about this car. It had a top engine noise, but no low oil pressure light yet. So I took my chances and the purchase price left me a room for the used engine if needed. Just some observations I have found so far: no PCV 6 update, valve cover removal showed more or less decent valve train condition. Sludge deposits are noticeable around headbolts next to valve springs- will be cleaning that. So I added little bit of oil to the top outer banks (sorry, don’t know a proper definition) and also used a turkey buster and oiled springs and cams little bit. Put a cover back quickly and half of noise was gone. There were no hard valves tapping- I think it’s a good sign? PCV #6 arrived yesterday. Next step- oil pan drop, pick up screen cleaning. I wish somebody in central PA had an engine flush machine like Andrews of Princeston has!! I am also considering removing and flushing the oil cooler, but afraid that fittings might break. Will definitely post some pictures once the oil pan is off. I wish I had a WIS!
