Greetings,

I am a proud owner of an 2002 Saab 9-5 Linear w/126K original miles. I love the car!! From what I've read on this great site, that these 9-5 can go up to 200-300K miles if taken care of..

The 9-5 drives and runs like it nothing I ever had before!! The previous original owner took great cared of the car before I bought it. I would like to keep the car going for another 125K miles or more.

There is only one issue and it's the air vents. I had to use the A/C the other day and the cold air was only coming out of the passenger side and the rear vents, but the center and the driver side vents were putting out warm air. I reset the climate control from reading previous posts, and I have a code something like 0 & 8 or something like that. Is this means I have a flapper shut or open?

Is there a way to fix this like open or shut the flapper permanently?

Because the transmission fluid was flushed 3 years ago from the receipt, so I decided flushed out the transmission fluid myself once again, from reading previous posts. I decided to use Mobil 3309 fluid. I flushed 3 times, each times took about 4 quarts. I noticed that with the new fluid, I am getting about 3 miles or less per gallon of gas. Yes, I was getting 26.3 MPG and after I flushed out the transmission fluid, and now I'm getting something like 21.3 - 22.3 MPG. The brakes are not dragging and the car has plenty of pickup and runs like a Timex watch.

I was thinking of using Redline or Amsoil transmission fluid next time I changed out the transmission fluid again. Anyone here had seen this problem with new fluid and the MPG dropped to the low 20's??

Sorry for the long lengthy post since I have nowhere to turn to and I love my new Saab to neglected or sell it.

Thank you in advance.

Kurt
