I have to agree with Brian. I removed the fuse on my 9-5 sedan so that I can control when my headlamps are on or off. I don't see "daytime running lights" as necessary safety features unless lighting or other conditions REALLY require it. I recall that they were introduced and promoted in this country by GM as a competitive feature to help them sell vehicles. I am quite capable of turning the headlamps on as required and don't need the government or the manufacturer making the decision for me.
