I am the happy owner of a 2005 ARC that has 10,000 miles left on the CPO warranty. I have been reading all of your posts since 2007 when I bought mine with 19,000 miles CPO. Like many of you mine had the throttle body act up at 60,000, the DIC flaked out around 78,000. My passenger side headlight is starting to turn off even after the bulbs were changed so I suspct the infamous orange relay. Besides that the car has been bullet proof and a real pleasure to drive.
Two questions:
What should I do in the next 10,000 miles while I still have warranty coverage. I have not yet had CPS or Fuel pump issues. Do those typically always fail on these cars?
Secondly, I live in Atlanta, GA where the temp is al least 80+ sixmonths of the year. Is the 0W-40 Mobil 1 really the best I can be doing to preserve my engine? I would think in the hot climate and sever conditions in ATL that maybe the 10W-40 Mobile one maybe the best bet for my car. It has 90,000 miles on it and I hav done all the requires service using 0W-40 every 5K.
I know many of these things have been covered but I just wanted to check with others that may live in the deep south where cold start protection is only applicable 45 days of the year.
Thanks, I Love MY SAAB!!
