There is a high and low shutoff to protect the compressor. If you put too much in then the compressor will not start. If there is not enough it will not start. If the fuse in the engine fuse box is done, it will not start. If the compressor clutch has a problem it will not start. etc....
1) Check the fuse under the hood
2) Get some sort of gauge to measure the low side pressure. Should be around 40-60 or so. You really should go to harbor freight and get an AC Manifold, hook up the high and low side (study it a bit) and then see what both sides of the pressures are.
3) If there is too much like 80-90+ on the low side you can try to let a little bit out.
If it worked before the charge and then did not after, odds are too much is in the system....
But, you have to be a bit careful here, because when the compresor is not running, the low side will read way higher until the compressor kicks in.
Other AC folks, please confirm.
