rear end: spacers v. shims Posted by cork [Email] (#716) [Profile/Gallery] (more from cork) on Thu, 16 Jun 2011 10:40:35 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I guess that 'subject' line says it all. I'm about to drop off my '02 Aero wagon to have the ride height brought back to spec and, it is hoped, thereby solve my tire-eating rear alignment problem. Do spacers and shims preform essentially the same function? Is one of them preferable and for what reasons? I'm asking because I think Saab has some OEM shims they'll want to sell me while I've read some fairly compelling thoughts on after-market spacers here on this BB.
Many thanks for any and all thoughts on the subject.
