9-5 check engine light blinks, power loss

Dear Friends,

I have a beautiful 2006 9-5 Sport with under 45k on the odometer. I have noticed lately that sometimes the check engine light flashes on the dash after a car wash, when the weather changes, and sometimes for no reason at all. This occurs sporadically. Sometimes it does not happen for weeks.

The other day whilst I was driving on the 101 freeway I was briskly accelarating in the fast lane and then had to brake suddenly. I noticed the check engine light began blinking and then I began losing power. The car started bucking and I lost power. I pulled over on the side of the freeway and turned off the vehicle. I restarted the car and the pulled back on the freeway without incident. The problem never reoccurred.

What could it be?
