depends on which guides you are taking about, not sure you can get a real good look at all of them. And I thought the limit on tensioner extension was 14mm . I know my chain was speaking to me and it hadn't extended to 15mm on the tensioner. Replaced chain only and all has been well for 25k miles, but I drive with a 4 leaf in the refrigerated glove box.
