You need batteries and capacitors Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Fri, 1 Jul 2011 12:59:10 In Reply to: Where do I get the batteries?, DougDunn, Fri, 1 Jul 2011 12:47:58 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The batteries are a Sanyo design that is not sold in the aftermarket by anyone. They offer an identical appearing battery with nearly the same part number, but with far different internal construction giving different life/capacity parameters.
There was also a little discussed global capacitor plague at the start of the millineum which results in electrolytic capacitors leaking their guts all over your circuit boards. Plan on replacing the caps too if you D-I-Y this repair.
I finally gave up with all the D-I-Y repairs and had a Dealership disable my siren for $25. The alarm still works but it uses the car's horn for audio alerts. If you are anywhere near mid-Michigan, see Trio Motors in Burton MI.
