I just had the same problem.
WD - 40.
Gently twist off the plastic shroud around the ignition and you will see the switch and everything holding it. A couple of drops around and some in of WD-40 should do it. Let it work itself in (a couple of minutes) then use the key as normal. After it "releases" put some more WD-40, genlty put the plastic back and you're done.
